Acupuncture Sessions
THE SETTING
Acupuncture sessions are one-on-one sessions where I work closely with you. On the first treatment, we will discuss your health history, your reasons for seeking acupuncture care, and your wellness goals. At this point, a personalized treatment plan will be designed for you.
THE TREATMENT
You will relax on a comfortable recliner or a massage table during your session. Each treatment is unique. I typically needle only on various points on your legs, feet, arms, hands, ears or head. In rare occasions, points on the torso may be selected. Moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, infrared, and manual therapy may be recommended and utilized depending on the suitability of the conditions.
A treatment session typically last about 45-60 minutes, up to 75-90 minutes for intake and re-evaluation. After your initial consultation, I will recommend a custom course of treatments, as well as setting goals to work towards to.
PRICING & INSURANCE
If you plan to use your insurance benefits to cover the cost, then please kindly contact me prior to scheduling an appointment, so I can verify with your insurance provider whether your policy will cover acupuncture. With the benefits, you will still be responsible for payment of any deductibles, co-pays, and coinsurance amounts not covered by your insurance provider. If I am unable to verify coverage prior to your treatment, you will be charged for the treatment until verification is obtained.
As a courtesy to our office and other patients, we ask that you please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You will be charged a $25.00 fee for any missed appointment or cancellation giving less than 24 hours notice for any non-emergency situations.
The fees charged are usual and customary for comparable services in our area. Please ask to see our fee schedule. For cash-paying We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Please note there is a $25.00 charge for returned checks.
For cash-paying patients, please ask to see the most up-to-date published fee schedule. These fees are called point of service fees as they are paid at the time services are delivered. Understand that this is also a discounted fee because it does not involve the administration and processing of insurance, and because most people are unable to pay the typical fees that we bill insurance companies.
For cash-paying patients only: If you are a student, active military personnel, veteran, or senior above 65 years of age, you may be qualified for a discount rate. Please bring a valid student ID, military ID, DD214 form, or government issued ID in order to qualify for this discount.
